On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, we welcome you to join Party 4 a Cause for our 2nd annual autumnal Wine Tasting Event held at Moore Brothers wine store for the 2nd year in a row!

This is a great event featuring hors d’oeurves from Upper East Side caterer Michelle’s Kitchen, and paired wine from independent wine distributors from across the world brought to you by Moore Brothers Wine. It’s a great way to learn about Wine, learn about how to pair the food with wine, just have some great conversation with some old and new friends.

And the best part, it’s all for a great cause - The Bronx Charter School for Better Learning. This year, we’re giving back to the community by getting back to our educational roots, and partnering up with a great organization focused on putting children on the right path towards education.

The Deal on Beer Pong:
16 teams of 2 people each team (32 people)
$30 per person ($60 per team) to play in the tourney (beer included)

The tournament will be done bracket style starting with the sweet 16! Winners move on.
First round losers, get to compete in a the “yes-you-suck-but-at-least-you-played” NIT round 2nd game

The Deal on Drinks:
Come support your friends in the tournament and indulge in some sweet drink specials
$15 can get you pitcher of beer, OR any 2 drinks of your choice.
Extra tables for non-tourney beer pong games will be available.

This is going to be a first of many. We are hosting our very first charity Guest Bartending event on Wednesday, April 29th @ Epistein’s Bar in the Lower East Side. Come and start drinking at 8pm!

Flippin’ the bottles that night will be our feature guest bartender, Carmen Ng! Her prior bartending experience includes bartending all throughout NYC, satisfying customers’ deepest Bacchanalian desires since 2006. Should be a killer time!

All of the guest bartender’s tips will be donated to the National MS Society through an MS Walk that one of our volunteers, Amy, will be participating in during early May. Party 4 a Cause supports research to fight multiple sclerosis

We met again on March 23rd and continued our planning process for our future events. Here are our meeting notes:

Guest Bartending
- We have a guest bartending event that we are planning.
- We are looking to host it in April
- at least 10% of the bar sales will go to charity, in addition to at least 50% of the guest bartender’s tips
- We are currently looking for a venue to host this event, and bartenders to guest bartend (no experience is necessary)

Beer Pong tournament
- We are planning a Beer Pong Tournament
- The event will be taking place around the end of April/Beginning of May time period
- We are currently looking for a venue to host this event, and people who would like to participate in the tournament

Our Next Meeting will be on Monday, April 6th

Here is a quick recap of the Party 4 a Cause volunteer meeting that we held on Monday, February 23 2009.

- Our next big event will be a Wine Tasting or a Beer Pong Tournament to be held in the April/May time period (details are to come)
- For this event, we may be working with a non-profit that is close to one of our volunteers - An Act of Kindness
- Our next volunteer meeting will be Monday, March 9th at the same place.
- Most important thing, we need a VENUE to host a wine tasting and a beer pong tournament.

If anyone knows of any good venues, bars, restaurants, lofts, etc. that could allow us to host a wine tasting or a beer pong tourney, please send it to us at help@party4acause.com.

The Party 4 a Cause volunteer team will be meeting again on Monday, March 9th at the same place (see our last entry). See you guys there. Please bring ideas, and venue places in hand. Looking forward to seeing you all.

This friday, Party 4 a Cause is hosting a Rockin’ 90s Dance Party. Be sure to make your way on out for a nostalgic night of the Carlton Dance, Captain Planet, 10 Things I Hate About You, and so much more!

The net proceeds for this charity party will be donated to our awesome partner in charity, Habitat for Humanity - NYC. And a big thanks to another set of partners, and Ningin for their help in promoting and putting this together. It’s going to be a great night! We’ll also be raffling off door prizes through the night.

So bust out your 90’s dance moves and practice your clueless slang, it’s gonna be off the meat rack! and be sure to RSVP here at on our facebook page, or our event page. Space is limited.

We had a great time hosting everyone at our 1st Party 4 a Cause wine tasting - Taste of Charity. I hope everyone had a chance to sample all of the wines, the food, and make some new friends.

We had 45 people attend, and raised a little under $1,000!

All of the money will go to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity for the redevelopment of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Gustav. Josh Lockwood from Habitat for Humanity - NYC came by, and educated us on the work that Habitat has been doing in New Orleans and in NYC, and brought over a great clip telling us the story of one family in NYC.

Stay tuned for information about our next party, which is slated to be at Stitch NYC on November 14. It’s a 90s party!!!
